Here at One Mind Dharma, we love to read. Although sitting in meditation and cultivating the path in daily life are extremely important pieces of our practice, we also find that reading is very helpful! We are constantly reading, hoping to learn new techniques, see what resonates, and offer new methods in our teaching style. As we love reading and have benefited quite a bit from this practice, we thought we would share it with all!
Our new Mindful Readers group is simply a way to encourage others to read, hold each other accountable, and learn from each other. Every month we will read a book about Buddhism or mindfulness, and see what we all get out of it. One of the beautiful things about engaging with a sangha, or community, is that we have the opportunity to hear different perspectives and learn new things. Our intention with this group is to cultivate a community of people interested in deepening their understanding of meditation, compassion, mindfulness, and the dharma.
The group is hosted on Google Plus. We chose this format because many people are not on Facebook, and Google is one of the easiest ways to have a simple group discussion. To join the group, just visit Mindful Readers on Google Plus.
