Mindfulness has become quite the buzzword in a secular context. In this online course, we investigate the Buddha’s teachings on mindfulness and how to establish this quality. We will investigate the Buddha’s teachings on the Four Foundations of Mindfulness, his words on how we can establish mindfulness in meditation practice. If you’re interested in mindfulness practice, this is the course for you!
Opening the Heart
An Introduction to the Heart Practices
The Buddha taught of four brahma-viharas, or heavenly abodes. These are four qualities of the heart we can cultivate in meditation practice: loving-kindness, compassion, appreciative joy, and equanimity. This online meditation course will go through these four practices, investigating what they are and how we cultivate them. We will work with formal meditation practices and investigate the cultivation of these qualities in daily life and interactions with others.
